The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit Early Years / Childcare Lecturers to support across their curriculum. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a well-established college, with the potential to secure longer-term roles.

Whether you’re an experienced Early Years Lecturer or a childcare professional looking to move into education, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

You’ll support learners across Early Years and Childcare programmes, helping them develop the knowledge and skills needed for careers working with children.

Deliver engaging lessons across Early Years / Childcare courses (Level 1–Level 3)
Teach topics such as child development, safeguarding, and learning through play
Support learners with coursework and placement preparation
Monitor learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
Promote safeguarding and best practice within childcare settings
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds:

Essential:

Experience in Early Years / Childcare (industry or teaching)
Strong knowledge of child development and safeguarding
Ability to support post-16 learners
Strong communication and organisational skills
A flexible and reliable approach

Desirable:

Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET)
Relevant Early Years qualification (CACHE / NVQ Level 3+)
Experience within Further Education
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
