My role here is to deliver The Supply Register service to academy locations we work in partnership with across London.
Alongside this, I work collaboratively with teams from other regions on companywide initiatives and projects.
I have worked within the education recruitment sector for over six years. Previous to this, I have always been in a customer-facing role, understanding the importance of customer service, communication, and transparency. Working for the Supply Register has allowed me to build excellent working relationships with hiring managers in schools such as Cover Managers, Business Managers, Head Teachers, SENCO’s, etc. It also allows me to assist those seeking new job opportunities by matching them to schools that suit their needs and in a role that matches their experience.
The Supply Registers approach and model to education recruitment grabbed my attention. As Partnership Manager, managing service delivery teams, schools and agencies to me make perfect sense. Since building the relationship with these school contacts, we have successfully freed their time, giving them more time to focus on other essential aspects of their role.
What would be your advice to headteachers looking for staff in the current economy?
My advice would be to act as fast as possible. There is a national shortage of candidates across all sectors, with education being heavily impacted by this. I would advise headteachers of MATs of all sizes to seriously consider utilising a Managed Service contract to ensure their recruitment demands in the current economy are met with speed and also affordability.
What advice would you give a supply teacher looking for work right now?
I think it’s important to gain a true understanding of your own value. Work with consultants who value you as they do themselves. You do a truly inspiring job and should be really appreciated for all your continued hard work.
What do you like most about working in the sector?
I really enjoy getting to meet new people and my position within TSR allow me to do this every day. In terms of working at TSR, I have a fantastically diverse team and it’s a pleasure seeing them succeed and grow within the sector. Having worked within the sector for 8 years it’s a privilege to be able to pass on my knowledge, including successes of my own (and mistakes) to new consultants to help them within their own careers.
