We are seeking a highly skilled and motivational Financial Controller to join our team and contribute to our mission. 

As the Financial Controller of The Supply Register, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our business. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, managing the reporting process and providing strategic guidance to senior management.

 

The position requires a detail-oriented and organised professional who can ensure the financial health and compliance of the company while contributing to its growth and success through exemplary customer service to our growing customers and supply chain partners. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget vs. actual analyses.
    • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to support strategic decision-making.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Collaborate with department heads to create and manage annual budgets.
    • Monitor and analyse budget variances and provide recommendations for cost optimisation.
  3. Financial Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
    • Prepare and file tax returns and manage tax planning strategies to minimise liabilities.
  4. Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
  5. Cash Flow Management:

    • Manage cash flow to meet operational needs and maintain sufficient working capital.
    • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable and implement strategies to optimise cash flow.
  6. Financial Controls:

    • Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    • Continuously assess and enhance financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  7. Audit and Compliance:

    • Coordinate and manage annual financial audits, working closely with external auditors.
    • Ensure the company’s financial records are accurately maintained and organised.
  8. Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance department.

Qualifications:

  • ACCA or CIMA certification, a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably in the recruitment or education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Xero, Excel, and financial modelling software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in financial management.

Financial, Controller

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Key Information

£40,000 — £45,000 per Year
