Estates Technician

Coleg Cambria is proud to provide outstanding environments where our learners and staff can thrive — and our Estates team plays a key role in making that happen. We’re now looking for a dedicated Estates Technician to help us maintain safe, welcoming and well-presented campuses across the college.
About the Role
As an Estates Technician, you’ll be part of a hardworking, supportive team responsible for the day-to-day operation of our buildings, facilities and grounds. From security and maintenance to room setups and transport, your work will ensure our campuses run smoothly and remain inspiring places to learn and work.
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who is proactive, adaptable, and committed to high standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
Security & Safety
-
Opening and securing college premises
-
Responding to alarms, incidents and patrol duties
-
Supporting the safe management of visitors and contractors
Emergency Support
-
Assisting with fire procedures
-
Providing First Aid (training can be provided)
Maintenance & Facilities
-
Carrying out minor repairs and scheduled maintenance
-
Supporting the upkeep of buildings, services and grounds
-
Moving furniture and equipment
Logistics & Portering
-
Receiving deliveries and distributing items across sites
-
Setting up rooms and learning spaces
-
Providing a mail and portering service
Transport
-
Driving college vehicles
-
Completing routine checks, cleaning and basic maintenance
Throughout all these activities, you’ll help deliver excellent customer service to staff, students and visitors.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
-
Previous experience in a similar role
-
Full, clean driving licence
-
Willingness to complete NVQ and First Aid training
-
Confident using Google applications and general IT systems
-
Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills
-
A positive, team-focused attitude and a commitment to high standards
-
Ability to stay proactive, calm and resilient
Desirable:

Knowledge of Health & Safety
-
Welsh language skills
